Wedges are a convenient way to make something move a little to line it up. This one has a hole in it so you can tie it off when working overhead.
I worked with a ace mechanic by the name of Johnny Young once upon a time. He made one of these that was about 32 inches long. you could bend a wrench with it. I recently found out you could buy one. This thing works better than Ol Johnny.
